Vivian Laura Young (Bucholtz), now at peace after a courageous battle. She left surrounded by family on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at 71 years young. Vivian enjoyed being a mom to Carrie (Steve) and Scott (Rachel) and loved her amazing husband of 50 years, Ray. Most importantly she loved being a grandmother to her grandkids Tyler "Bud" and Megan "Dolly". She is also survived by her sister Marilyn May (Larry) of North Bay and her brother Bernard Bucholtz (Eloise) of Peterborough, brother-in-law Roy Young (Mary Ellen) of Winnipeg and sister-in-law Kay Young of North Bay. She will be missed by many nephews and nieces.
Vivian was the co-owner of Young’s of Prescott clothing store. She made the best Sweet Marie bars and spaghetti sauce. There was nothing better than Christmas at Grandma’s house on Christmas Eve. She was an avid reader and an expert at puzzles. She always controlled the outcome of board games because of her ability to use her “grandma rules”. She was the most beautiful person inside and out and touched everyone she met in some way.
Friends and customers are invited to a celebration of Vivian’s life on Saturday, December 1st, 2018 at the Irvine Memorial Chapel at Roselawn, 2451 County Road 15, Maitland from 12 noon until 2 p.m. with a service in the chapel commencing at 2 o’clock. A reception will follow. Donations to the BGH Foundation, the CHEO foundation or another charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged.
